Our Scientific Diver professional-level certification course is an intensive training program designed to meet all the competency standards of the European Scientific Diver qualification. The course is aimed towards anyone interested in working in the environmental consulting industry, for conservation NGO's, or working with marine parks.

WEEK 1 | LEARN MORE
Focusing on safety standards for working underwater, topics include advanced dive planning, dive accident management, risk assessment and use of specialized dive equipment.
WEEK 2 | LEARN MORE
Each day includes specific task-orientated diving and lectures in topics from coral health, tropical reef fish identification, and manta ray conservation. Certifications include PADI Fish ID, & Coral Reef Conservation.
WEEK 3 | LEARN MORE
Learn about several survey techniques used to monitor coral reef health. Including Coral Watch & Reef Check scientific survey techniques. Certifications include Reef Check, Coral Watch & PADI Research Diver.
SCIENTIFIC DIVER + PADI DIVEMASTER
As some of the theory and skills overlap between the Scientific Diver program and PADI Divemaster certificate, students who are already Rescue Diver certified and have completed the Scientific Diver training program, can then finish the remaining excercises, theory, and workshops of the PADI Divemaster course in three weeks for this discounted rate.

Reef Check EcoDiver
The world recognized ReefCheck EcoDiver certificate is a comprehensive training course in survey methods for monitoring coral reef health. The course has theory, practical and diving based components including Reef Check methods, fish identification, coral substrates and survey methods.

Coral Watch Diver
Coral Watch is a world-wide organization collecting data on coral beaching. During this course you will learn about coral bleaching and the effects of climate change on coral reefs. You will then go out on two survey dives to collect data on coral health using the CoralWatch Coral Health Chart.
PREREQUISITES: OPENWATER DIVER OR HIGHER
This Introduction to coral restoration allows divers to take part in our active restoration site by transplanting corals on our coral frames. The program includes lectures on marine habitat restoration as well as various techniques in use for coral restoration.

This course is designed to help you interact with the living underwater world based on objective assessments and observations. Underwater Naturalist teaches you to view the aquatic ecosystems scientifically, without biases based on misconceptions and myths.
This course starts with a classroom lecture on coral reef fish by our in-house marine biologist. You will learn the major families of fish on Indo-Pacific coral reefs. You will then go out for 2 dives to search for examples of the fish you have learned and identify more!
