Rainy Day in Nusa Lembongan? Here’s What to Do

Even in the dry season, tropical weather can surprise you. One minute it’s blazing sunshine, the next it’s a full downpour. It’s part of island life! And honestly, it’s not such a bad thing. The rain cools things down, keeps the island lush, and gives you a good reason to slow the pace. But it helps to be prepared. Whether you’re here for diving, relaxing, or just exploring, it’s smart to have a few rainy day options up your sleeve.

Here’s how to make the most of rainy days in Nusa Lembongan.

1. Take a PADI Freediving Course

Tropical rain can be surprisingly calming. A rainy day might be the perfect time to start freediving.

Level 1 begins with theory and breathing practice in our underroof classroom, then moves into the pool. Even if it’s still raining, you’re already in the water, so it hardly matters. By the time you head to the ocean, the skies may have cleared. And if not, you’ll be too focused on your dive to notice. It’s a calm, rewarding way to spend your time and a great way to expand how you explore the ocean in future.

2. Get a Massage or Spa Treatment

Lembongan has excellent local spas. Rainy afternoons are your cue to slow down, dry off, and give your muscles a break. Most spots offer traditional Balinese massage, facials, and body scrubs. Prices are

reasonable, and walk-ins are usually welcome.

3. Join a Local Cooking Class

Rainy days are perfect for trying something new indoors. Balinese cooking classes are fun, hands-on, and surprisingly relaxed. You’ll learn how to make satay, sambal, and traditional desserts. And there’ll be plenty of tasting along the way! It’s a great way to spend a few hours, and you’ll leave with recipes worth repeating at home.

4. Create Your Own Natural Skincare

How about hiding from the rain with a hands-on indoor workshop?

Dapur Alami is a skincare brand on Lembongan. They offer workshops where you’ll mix and make five full-size, natural products to take them home with you! You’ll:

● Learn how natural ingredients work (plant based and beeswax formulas)

● Blend your own cleansing balm, body butter, facial balm, scrub, and lip balm

● Spend 2–2½ hours crafting something beautiful and useful

Workshops run in small groups. It’s immersive, creative, and a great way to spend a wet morning, and you walk away with products you can actually use.

5. Come Scuba Diving Anyway!!

You’re going to get wet either way.

Rain doesn’t stop us from diving. The visibility underwater often stays excellent, and the marine life doesn’t care about the weather. In fact, some of our best dives happen on moody, rainy mornings. Fewer boats. Fewer

people. And peace below the surface, often not even noticing the weather topside. Already planning a dive?

Don’t cancel. Gear up and go!
