Diving with Blue Corner Dive Bali
Blue Corner Dive operates three dive centres in Bali. We began with our resort in Nusa Lembongan, where we became a PADI 5 Star Career Development Centre — the highest rating within the PADI system. We are also a recognised conservation centre with reef-restoration projects and courses based on validated science and techniques, led by our experienced in-house marine biologists.
As diving becomes more expensive and competition increases, we want to share with you why our pricing reflects the value and diver comfort we provide.
Why Stay in Nusa Lembongan
Nusa Lembongan is located just a short 30 minute boat ride from Bali. Nusa Lembongan offers a small island feeling with big island offerings. Nusa Lembongan has a variety of accommodation from homestays to private villas. The food choices are excellent with delicious local food served in simple warnings to fine dinning expereinces. From accommodation to food there is truly something for everyone. A big reason to stay… no traffic jams - you can visit anywhere on the island from any starting point in less than 30 minutes.
Why Diving from Nusa Lembongan
The diving around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida is world class, why spend the day traveling from Bali to dive these fantastic dive sites. The dive sites around the Nusa islands are between 20 - 45 minutes from Blue Corner Dive. Daily scuba trips last around four hours giving you lots of time to explore the island, enjoy the beach, or to just relax and drink bintang.
Group Sizes
Whether you are a certified diver, learning to dive, taking a PADI course, or joining one of our reef-restoration programs, we maintain a strict maximum ratio of 4 divers per PADI Professional (instructor or divemaster).
Our boats also operate within clearly defined capacity limits — and we never exceed them. Space, comfort, and calm on board are part of the dive experience, not optional extras.
Did you know? Indonesia, like many countries, sets legal limits on the number of divers allowed per boat. Asking a dive centre about their licensed capacity is a useful — and often overlooked — question before booking.
Diving with the Right Buddy or Dive Group
Have you ever worried about ending a dive early because of air consumption? Or felt frustrated as an experienced diver being paired with someone far less experienced? Not to worry we too have been there.
At Blue Corner Dive, we take buddy-matching seriously. We organise divers into groups that align with their certification level and experience. While we may not always get it right on the first try, our team can and will reorganize groups to make sure that everyone is getting the best experience with the most appropriate dive buddies.
PADI Renewals and Insurance
Like any professional field, dive instructors must pay annual fees to maintain their PADI membership — and these costs are significant. Blue Corner Dive shares these expenses with our professional staff.
All Blue Corner staff members also hold personal insurance to protect themselves in case of injury.
In addition, Blue Corner Dive contributes to Indonesia’s national insurance scheme, including general health coverage for staff and their families, as well as contributions to each employee’s national retirement fund at no cost to the staff member.
Community Development
Blue Corner Dive is deeply rooted in the local community and has supported many divers — including all our current staff — through what the industry has nicknamed “zero-to-hero”. This allows local individuals to begin with no certification, learn to dive, and progress all the way to the industry’s most respected qualification: PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
To help grow the Indonesian dive industry and empower women, we sponsor two female divers each year to complete their PADI Divemaster training, including accommodation, instruction, and certification costs.
We also support the local community by sponsoring the Lembongan Surf Team and their events, and by making annual donations to village communities for Nyepi (Balinese New Year).
The Environment
In 2026, Blue Corner Dive will formally launch our charity dedicated to reef and marine conservation. Over the past several years, our marine biology team has been actively restoring the Sental dive site. The transformation is remarkable — what was once a damaged rubble field is now a stable, thriving reef. One of the most exciting signs of improvement is the return of white-tip reef sharks, a strong indicator of healthy reef ecosystems.
More fun facts: Bali, including Nusa Lembongan, does not have a centralized wastewater treatment system. Most people don’t think about what happens after they flush — but it’s something worth asking when comparing dive centres.
At our own dive centre, we operate an on-site water treatment system. After filtering and treatment, the water is safe to use in our gardens. We also produce our own fresh water for rinsing dive equipment, ensuring your gear (and ours) is properly desalinated after each dive.
If you haven’t dived with us before, we hope you will. We’re not the lowest-cost centre — and that’s because we prioritise community support, environmental stewardship, and small, well-matched dive groups that put your experience first.
FAQ’s
What is the best dive shop in Nusa Lembongan?
Blue Corner Dive Bali, of course.
Is Nusa Lembongan better than Nusa Penida for diving?
All the dive sites are accessible from both islands. Choosing your island depends on the feel you are after. Nusa Lembongan is smaller, more community focused. Nusa Penida is larger, offering all the instagramable sites but beware, during the day the day trippers take over the island and the land based instagram sites. We suggest staying on Penida for a night or more to explore after the day trippers have departed.
