Try something new

Trying a new activity and learning a new skill top the list of popular New Year’s resolutions year after year. Blue Corner has many options to try something new, grow your skillset, and change your life. The ocean is a big place, and there are a lot of different ways to explore it. Why not try them all?

Introduction to scuba diving (DSD)

For first-timers who have never taken a breath through a regulator, Blue Corner offers Discover Scuba Diving. This one-day course covers dive basics and ends with the grand finale – an ocean dive 12 meters below the surface. However, we have to warn you that scuba diving is highly addictive, so you’re not likely to want to stop once you’ve seen the underwater world – especially in Indonesia.

Introduction to freediving

If you’re already scuba-obsessed, give freediving a try. It’s completely different than scuba diving and presents new challenges, benefits, and experiences. Floating effortlessly through the deep blue with nothing but fins and a mask will be like entering a new world – one that you won’t want to leave.

Do something to help the Earth

As we become more aware of the perils facing our oceans, from plastic pollution to coral bleaching, many of us are determined to help. The good news is that there are easy ways to get involved, both on land and as a diver. Collect trash at a local park or beach, take part in an ocean clean-up, or join a conservation project. Blue Corner offers several options to get involved in conservation work, from a professional-level Scientific Diver course to simply donating a coral restoration frame for our marine biologist to install on your behalf.

Help our oceans by participating in coral restoration

Blue Corner’s coral restoration workshop is one of the most popular programs we offer. It gives students valuable hands-on experience in building a coral nursery, installing reef structures, and transplanting corals into a restoration site. Leave your mark on our coral reefs for years to come. Future generations will thank you!

Get a new job

How many people dread Mondays, spend their weeks counting down until the weekend, and watch the years fly by? We all have to make a living, but living to work isn’t a life at all. Spending your days on a tropical island with the ocean as your office, getting paid to dive every day? Now that’s a life. It’s a big leap, but it’s been done time and time again. Most people who took it never looked back to their 9-5 cubicle days. We sure didn’t!

Become a Divemaster

The first step to change your life is to go through the PADI Divemaster program. This 4-week course gives candidates the necessary skills and confidence to land a professional diving job. If that's not enough, divemaster candidates get to live on our tropical island for a month in paradise!

Change your life with our Instructor Development Course

For divemasters who are ready to take it to the next level, the Instructor Development Course awaits. Blue Corner was the first dive shop to offer dive instructor training on the island, and we now have two 5-star IDC Centres on both Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. We hold our legendary IDC program every month, so there are plenty of options to take the leap!

Travel more

Beautiful beaches, lush jungles, and rich culture – there’s a reason Bali tops the list of best destinations to visit again and again. However, there are over 17,000 islands in Indonesia, and Bali is just the beginning. As Bali becomes more crowded and developed, travelers are venturing to neighboring islands to explore more rugged, natural beauty. Nusa Lembongan is a quick ferry ride from mainland Bali, but it maintains the relaxed, tropical paradise vibe that Bali became famous for. Plus, the diving around Nusa Lembongan is full of pristine reefs and abundant marine life.

Blue Corner may be known for our diving, but it’s our friendly community and welcoming atmosphere that keep guests coming back again and again. Our beachfront bar is a mecca for travelers, divers, and locals to enjoy the sunset, drink some Bintangs, and make new friends. Blue Corner welcomes both solo adventurers and group travelers with open arms.

Embrace a healthy lifestyle

It might sound too good to be true, but diving goes hand-in-hand with a healthy lifestyle. Divers spend the day outdoors, getting a healthy dose of sunshine and fresh air. Vitamin D isn't the only health benefit of diving, though.

Did you know you’re also burning calories as you float weightlessly in the deep blue, watching a manta ray dance by? According to PADI, a dive can burn up to 600 calories per hour. To put things into perspective, that’s the same amount as jogging, but infinitely more fun.

On the other side of the diving spectrum, the benefits of freediving are similar to those of a yoga practice. The process of holding your breath and lowering your heart rate has been proven to reduce anxiety and stress, ultimately improving mental health.

Whatever your New Year's resolutions are, Blue Corner is the answer. Join us in our tropical island paradise to dive, adventure, or relax. We have it all!
