Bali Done Right - Top 10 of Bali
We recently spent several days diving with Blue Corner Dive on Nusa Lembongan and around Nusa Penida, and our overall impression is very favourable. Here are our thoughts based on three key criteria: safety & professionalism, dive experience & environment, and guest support & logistics.
From the moment we arrived, safety and professionalism stood out. The team maintained impressively low guide-to-diver ratios (1:4) and explained their safety protocols clearly—including dive times, surface marker buoys, and emergency equipment aboard the boats. The dive centre emphasises diver safety as their number one priority. (We sensed they didn’t just say it—they lived it). They also maintained clean, well-serviced equipment and required divers to declare their certification level and dive experiences beforehand. That attention made us feel comfortable even when diving more challenging sites.
In terms of dive experience and environment, this shop delivers. They ran trips to some of the region’s more dramatic sites—steep walls, drift dives and the chance to see large pelagic species. One particularly memorable dive was on a slope near 20 – 30 m where we glimpsed eagle rays, barracuda and huge schools of trevally. We were impressed at how the guides selected the site based on conditions. While some spots were clearly reserved for advanced divers (especially when currents picked up), the ones chosen for the day were matched to our level, and that enabled us to enjoy the big-fish action while staying within our comfort zone. The rich marine life and beautiful terrain made the dives special.
Finally, as regards guest support and logistics, Blue Corner Dive was strong. They helped arrange transport to the dive centre from nearby, explained equipment rental fees upfront, and offered clear packages for fun dives and training. The dive centre is beachfront, making gear handling and boat boarding much smoother than mainland alternatives. We appreciated that they handled the little details—refreshments aboard, gear stowage, briefings on each dive site—and provided the kind of smooth, friendly service that let us focus on the diving rather than logistics.
In sum, diving with Blue Corner Dive felt like a well-managed, high-quality experience. If you are in Bali or the Nusa islands and looking to dive with skilled staff, good equipment and access to excellent underwater terrain, we’d confidently recommend giving them a look.
