Elise Dixon

Elise first discovered her love for diving in her hometown of Jersey, in the Channel Islands, back in 2014. After completing her Rescue Diver training locally, she spent several years assisting at her dive centre while completing her university studies — earning both a BSc and MSc in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, with a specialisation in mathematical biology and fluid dynamics. During this time, Elise developed a passion for the precision, skill, and knowledge that being a competent diver demands.

After graduating, Elise travelled to Indonesia to complete her Divemaster training in Nusa Penida. With a longstanding intent to teach the next generation of ocean ambassadors, she completed her IDC with Blue Corner Dive in early 2022. Over the following years, Elise built up experience working primarily with Divemaster candidates at several locations across Indonesia, focusing on developing confident, capable dive professionals.

In 2024, Elise returned to Blue Corner Dive as Lead Divemaster Instructor. Under the mentorship of Course Director Made P, she continued her professional journey to become an IDC Staff Instructor, now helping to train and mentor the next generation of PADI Instructors. Elise is also an Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer, and aspires to continue building her own professional development, striving to follow in the footsteps of her mentors.

Elise’s teaching style is built on the belief that fun and enjoyment are at the heart of great dive education, balanced by a strong focus on professionalism, situational awareness, and clear communication. Whether she is working with Divemaster or IDC candidates, Elise is passionate about helping divers grow their confidence, skills and understanding of the industry to become true dive leaders.

With a particular love for wreck diving, Elise enjoys joining the Tulamben road trip and sharing her passion with new instructors as they continue their training after the IE. When she’s not in the water, Elise can often be found picking up a badminton racquet. In a past life, she competed internationally as a badminton player — something she still enjoys today, especially sharing in Indonesia’s love for the sport.
